Important Information for Parents
- Students need to provide their own instrument.
- Students need to practice on their own time to be prepared by their school performance or the district performance, whichever comes first.
- Parents will be the judge of whether their child is ready to participate.
- There are no tryouts.

There are two ways to learn the piano part. Choose the option that works best for your student.

Cloggers in “Freedom Isn’t Free”
Below are two videos to help students learn the dance for this number.
The dance is very basic, so nearly all skill levels can learn it with practice. Students need to provide their own clogging or tap shoes.
Don’t have shoes? No problem! Here are some ideas:
We do not want to rule out any student because of shoes. Let them shine!
- Step-by-Step Lesson – teaches the dance moves one at a time
- Complete Run-Through – the full dance from start to finish

- Borrow a pair from a friend or fellow student.
- Check secondhand shops or online resale sites.
- As long as some dancers have tap or clog shoes for the sound effect, it will work just fine.
